Between Rhodes Town and the small seaside resort of Charáki, the east coast of the island is dotted with bays, each more beautiful and picturesque than the next. There are no places of interest in Faliraki. However, its proximity to Rhodes Town makes it an acceptable holiday destination for all-inclusive travelers. The individual traveler is better off staying in the places Charáki or Stegná. The beaches here are extremely varied and reach
from the pebble beach between rocks in Anthony Quinn Bay to the kilometre-long, wide sandy beach with dune-like upturned sand hills at Tsambika Beach. It is therefore no wonder that the tiny fishing village of Fakáki has now become the main holiday destination on the island. But the village is clearly divided in two. The real seaside resort is the entertainment and nightlife center of the island with numerous discotheques and music clubs, amusement parks and snack bars.
Young English people in particular feel good here. In the north, most of the island's large hotels are located along a long sandy beach.
The road from the beautiful seaside resort of Kolymbia to the interior runs through the forest, along the river Loutani to Archipoli, a picturesque farming village. The route is perfect for a walk or a bike ride. Just before the village, in a pine forest, is the Agios Nektarios Monastery where you can take a rest and quench your thirst with the cool spring water. Nice trips from Kolymbia include: Rhodes Town, Lindos, Butterfly Valley, Kamiros and Kalithea.
